Meet Xbox Controller macro and Shortcuts in reWASD 4.0

Create Shortcuts out of gamepad buttons

Create Shortcuts out of gamepad buttons

The typical controller has 17 buttons only. We think that you deserve more. That is why we developed Activators, Shift mode and Slots. Now, let us introduce Shortcuts to you. Shortcut is a combination of 2, 3 or 4 physical gamepad buttons. Pressed together, they may be assigned to any keyboard key, mouse click or combo. So, now you can add a mapping to A controller button, then add another one to B controller button, and use the third one for A+B! As for me, this thing is truly cool for Elite paddles, but with any controller, it rocks.

Our experienced users may wonder, how Shift mode differs from Shortcuts. Here is the main thing. When you pick some button as a Shift modifier, it is better not to map anything to it — just like it’s a real keyboard Shift that doesn’t do anything by itself. With Shortcuts, you don’t need to reserve a button. You may create 3 unique mappings out of 2 buttons, 7 unique mappings out of 3 buttons and 15 unique mappings out of 4 buttons.

Use Xbox Controller macro in your configs

Use Xbox Controller macro in your configs

Half a year ago, we created the most powerful Combo Editor ever. Gamepad buttons were the only thing it missed. We had numerous feedbacks from you asking to implement controller buttons for Combo, Turbo and Toggle, and finally, we are ready to show this huge feature to you!

Now you can use Xbox 360 Controller macro for any gamepad you have. While creating a combo, take a look at the left bottom where you will see 17 buttons at your service. You can mix them, add pauses, set the duration press, emulate simultaneously or one by one. Once you apply a config with such combos, we will create a Virtual Xbox Controller that is going to execute all your combos or do controller Turbo and Toggle.

And here is one more thing we were asked for too long. Since reWASD 4.0, we fully support Nintendo Switch Pro. Add combos and mappings, use Shortcuts and Shift mode, try Activators or our Advanced gamepad mapping — all reWASD powers are now available for Switch Pro owners.

Haven’t found your controller in the list of supported devices? Do not worry, more controllers will come soon. With the next big update, we are going to extend the device base and add truly surprising ones. And while we are working on other amazing features, you are welcome to download reWASD 4.0 and try it by yourself.
