Meet reWASD 8.0.1: Introducing Virtual Shaking, Enhanced Radial Menu, Some Fixes, and Improved Stability Across the Board
Introducing virtual shaking and mapping virtual scroll to physical scroll wheels
In reWASD 8.0.1 we have significantly improved the virtual gyro (VGyro) by adding support for virtual shaking. This new feature enhances control options and will be especially useful in games where motion is crucial. Don’t let your flashlight in The Last of Us go out—“shake” it with a simple key press!
You’ve been asking for the ability to map virtual scrolls to physical scroll wheels, and we’ve delivered. Now, this feature is available for mice and gamepads that have scroll wheels, such as Azeron.
Jump to the Shift Layers from the Radial Menu and use the Trackball Mode of DarkWalker ShotPad
We are continuing to enhance the Radial Menu. You can now set up menu sectors to directly switch to specific Shift layers, making it easier to quickly access different control settings. Customize it by setting the color, choosing an icon, or simply adding a number to make navigation between shifts even more intuitive.
Additionally, we’ve introduced Trackball Mode for the touchpad on the DarkWalker ShotPad, allowing you to use the touchpad like a trackball for more precise cursor control. We also fixed a bug that prevented virtual scroll mapping on the DarkWalker ShotPad FPS in the GUI.
Smooth experience while using handheld devices
During development, we encountered several issues with handheld devices like AYANEO, ROG Ally, and AOKZOE A1, which we were quick to address. We fixed the problem where configurations were not displayed in the slots after being applied to these devices, improving the overall user experience. Additionally, we resolved an issue with shortcuts not working correctly when using any combination of controllers with the mentioned handheld devices, making action switching smoother and more reliable.
More fixes – fewer issues :)
We fixed the issue where timings for Double and Triple Activators would unexpectedly change when switching between frames with different settings. We also resolved bugs related to hidden mutes not displaying correctly on Azeron after reopening the interface or changing the device. Finally, we fixed an unexpectable crash that occurred when switching to a config slot while using the Korean language - hieroglyphs can be tricky. We've also worked on ensuring reWASD’s stability and compatibility across all games.
